ASA launches virtual ‘literary speed dating’ for regional members

The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) will launch its first virtual ‘literary speed dating’ session for regional members as part of Red Dirt Writers’ Week.

ASA members in remote and rural communities will be offered three minutes to pitch to various publishers and agents via online video conference or phone.

Publishers and agents in attendance include Pantera Press, Harlequin Australia, the Nash Agency, Penguin Random House, Allen & Unwin, HarperCollins, Walker Books and Random House Young Readers.

The event will be held on 20 and 21 of March. Appointments will initially exclude all members living within 200 kilometres of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Any remaining appointment times will open to all members the week before the event.

The event is part of ‘a wider initiative by the ASA to make resources and events available to authors and illustrators in regional and remote areas’.
