Townsend shortlisted for 2018 Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards
Australian author Jessica Townsend’s multiple award-winning middle-grade novel Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Lothian) has been shortlisted for the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards in the fiction category, reports the Bookseller.
Each year, the UK retailer awards prizes to children’s books in five categories: fiction, picture book, learning and development, baby and toddler, and favourite characters (formerly known as licensing).
Each category winner will win £1000 (A$1755) and one book will win the title of Sainsbury’s children’s book of the year.
The winners will be announced on 29 August.
As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the picture book Where’s Mr Lion by Ingela Arrhenius (Nosy Crow) was named book of the year at the 2017 Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards.
