Writers, literary orgs among latest OzCo funding recipients

Twenty-five writers and literary organisations are among the recipients of the latest Australia Council grants round, which awarded $5.8 million to 192 projects.

Grants in the literature category were worth a total of $827,983.

There were 16 recipients of grants for arts projects for individuals and groups in the literature category:

  • Ivy Alvarez ($50,000)
  • David Sornig ($50,000)
  • Michelle Cahill ($30,000)
  • Sofie Laguna ($25,000)
  • Megan McKinlay ($34,800)
  • Naomi Parry ($19,480)
  • Shokoofeh Azar ($30,000)
  • Peter Jonsberg ($50,000)
  • Melissa Keil ($30,000)
  • Jane Harrison ($46,625)
  • Brooke Davis ($34,940)
  • Taku Mbudzi ($19,965)
  • Peter Boyce ($40,000)
  • Eva Hornung ($40,000)
  • Jessica Wilkinson ($28,308)
  • Edoardo Crismani ($40,270)

Five organisations received arts project funding:

  • Cordite Publishing ($61,200)
  • Peril Magazine ($11,870)
  • Library Board of Queensland ($55,940)
  • Kill Your Darlings Pty Ltd ($33,250)
  • TLB Society Inc ($37,370).

Four career development grants were also awarded:

  • Lucy Nelson ($6220)
  • Mireille Juchau ($7147)
  • ‘On the Run’ crime writing tour (Sulari Gentill, Robert Gott, Jock Serong and Emma Viskic) ($25,000)
  • Mary Anne Butler ($20,598).
