New FNAWN writers residency, masterclasses

The First Nations Australia Writers Network (FNAWN) has developed a new writers residency with the Regional Council of Goyder in South Australia.

Due to current recent and ongoing Covid-19 lockdowns, the residency is open to two South Australian FNAWN writers.

Open to authors, poets or storytellers from emerging to established, the five-day residency is situated on Ngadjuri Country in the township of Burra in South Australia. It includes a $500 stipend for each participant, donated by RMIT University and FNAWN, accommodation and pick up and and drop-off from Adelaide if required.

Accommodation is hosted by award-winning author Ali Cobby Eckermann.

‘The residency centres on free time to commit to your writings in a culturally safe space to explore new landscapes of country, township and to write one session with local school children,’ said FNAWN.
