Frankfurt reports 73,500 in-person attendees
Frankfurt Book Fair has reported that 36,000 trade visitors from 105 countries, and 37,500 public visitors, attended this year’s event, which ran from 20–24 October, reports Publishing Perspectives.
Visitors came from 105 countries, with over 2000 companies from 80 companies exhibiting in-person.
The fair’s digital programming, which included the premiere of Frankfurt Studio: Inside Publishing—a series of 27 sessions of content—and a series of ‘Masterclass’ events, had an overall engagement of 130,000 users. The Frankfurt Studio program drew 15,500 views from users in 97 countries on the Frankfurt Book Fair site alone, with figures from Facebook, YouTube and other external platforms yet to be added.
‘After 18 months, [the fair] represented a new start and, considering the travel restrictions in place around the world, it far exceeded our expectations,’ said Frankfurter Buchmesse president and CEO Juergen Boos. ‘It just shows how resilient and creative our industry is. Many exhibitors and trade visitors expressed satisfaction at the quality of their interactions. And thanks to our digital program for professionals, we were able to build a bridge to participants who were unable to travel this year.’
