Reporting to the rights manager you will actively contribute to the focus and growth of international deals. Working directly in key English-speaking markets and with a network of co-agents based around the world, you will secure opportunities abroad for our local authors.
Key responsibilities
- Develop submission strategies for key titles
- Gather submission material for key titles, prepare pitches and submit material to third-party publishers and licensees in international markets
- Create sales material to support submissions and presentations
- Draft and negotiate rights contracts
- Administer requests for production and digital files for licensees, and invoice as necessary
- Maintain financial and submission spreadsheets
- Administer and record appropriate details of third-party royalty statements and payments
- Administer third-party permission requests
- Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders including co-agents, literary scouts, authors and agents.
About you
- 3–5 years’ experience in publishing and experience in a previous Rights role are preferred but not necessary
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- High level or attention to detail and accuracy
- Good problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and an interest in the international publishing world. A highly organised, competent, motivated team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoys elements of deadline work.
