Product executive, Sydney

Walker Books Australia is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated full time product executive for a 12-month contract, with the view to become permanent, to join the Walker Books Australia product team to oversee the monthly release run and our award winning international agencies, including: Nobrow, Andersen Press, What on Earth Books and Gecko Press.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and motivated person with a clear understanding and interest in product management, for the role of product executive. This role will work within the Walker Books Product team, who guide our publications through metadata, scheduling, warehousing and book production processes.

The product executive role would suit an individual who has a keen eye for detail, and has an interest in supply chain and logistics. The perfect candidate would have a passion for books and an interest in learning about the full scope of the publishing process.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing and maintaining the integrity of all data relating to Walker Books Australia Agency Titles
• Running the monthly release run with the warehouse
• Frontlist management including pricing and scheduling
• Publication schedule management–pricing, scheduling and meta data
• Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; including warehouse, freight forwarders

Desired skills and experience:

• Able to prioritise and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and planning skills
• Proficiency with Excel
• Knowledge of Biblio and Bookmaster systems is an advantage
• International shipping, logistics and supply chain experience highly desirable
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in publishing, bookselling or a complementary industry
• Strong understanding and interest in product management
• Strong financial and commercial understanding

To be considered for the position you should have experience in a similar role in sales or a product role in publishing or bookselling.
