NSW Prem’s History Awards adds $10,000 prize

The NSW Government has announced the establishment of a new history prize category in the NSW Premier’s History Awards.

The Anzac Memorial Trustees Military History Prize, valued at $10,000, will recognise ‘the important work of historians in recording and sharing the stories of Australian veterans, so that future generations will remember those who served’.

The new prize brings the awards prize pool to $85,000 across six categories also including Australian History Prize; General History Prize; New South Wales Community and Regional History Prize; Young People’s History Prize; and Digital History Prize.

First presented in 1997, the NSW Premier’s History Awards are administered by the State Library of NSW, in association with Create NSW. Entries for the awards open in February 2023.
