BookTok hit leads Dymocks Top 101

BookTok hit The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is the number one book on the Dymocks annual Top 101 online poll, with 39% of books on the list being titles popular on the TikTok platform. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was number two on last year’s list.

Dymocks merchandise manager Kate Mayor said: ‘Taylor Jenkins Reid has been a Dymocks favourite since Daisy Jones and the Six was released in 2019 and we love that BookTok has since helped make The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo a massive bestseller. This engrossing tale of the tumultuous life of a Hollywood starlet is a worthy winner!’

Voted for by members of the Dymocks Booklover program, this year’s list received over 129,000 votes. This year was a record year for female authors on the list, with 76% of books written by women, up from 65% last year.

All five Dymocks Book of the Year winners made the list, with four out of the top 10 titles being new releases. Mayor said, ‘We are thrilled that half of the top 10 titles are written by Aussie authors.’ Looking at the full list, 39% were books by Australian authors.
