Vale Joy McKean

Joy McKean, an Australian country music singer-songwriter and the wife and manager of Slim Dusty, has died.

Hachette Australia writes:

‘Fiona Hazard, group publishing director, said: “We worked with Joy on her memoir of husband Slim Dusty, I’ve Been There… and Back Again, in 2012 and her own memoir, Riding this Road, in 2014. We also worked with Joy on a new edition of Another Day, Another Town in 2014.  Joy McKean OAM was one of our greatest songwriters, a national treasure and a pioneer of the Australian music scene. It was our privilege to publish her and we know she will be sadly missed. Vale Joy.”‘
