Graphic novelists to appear at Adelaide Papercuts Comics Festival
Papercuts Comics Festival, a biennial celebration of comics and graphic novels, will return to Adelaide on 16-17 September.
The Creators in Conversation discussion panels include: children’s illustrators Gavin Aung Than, Dan McGuiness, Kay O’Neill on the Making Comics for Kids Again panel; graphic novelists Georgina Chadderton, Sarah Firth and Sarah Winifred Searle on the Drawn from Life: Writing Personal Experience panel; comics artists Rachel Ang, Scott Pritchett and Briar Rolfe on the Forthcoming: Publishing and Working with Editors panel; and comics writers Ryan K Lindsay, Jessica Walton, Scott Wilson on the Words for Pictures: Writing for Comics panel.
In addition to these panels, the festival will include an evening of live comics readings by diverse creators on the theme of ‘Music’, and a market day with over 100 comics makers including Aśka, Ben Hutchings, Bruce Mutard, Christof Bogacs, Dave Follett, Greg Holfeld, Mirranda Burton and Reimena Yee. The national Comic Arts Awards of Australia, formerly known as the Ledger Awards, will be held on the Friday evening before the festival.
