Changes to ABA management committee announced
A number of changes to the Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) management committee were announced at this year’s annual conference, held in Manly, NSW, between 17 and 18 June.
Former director and CEO of the Melbourne University Bookshop Graeme Connelly has retired and stepped down from his position as ABA treasurer. Patricia Genat, owner of ALS Library Services, has moved from her position as second vice-president to the treasurer position.
Books for Cooks owner Tim White, who was elected as an ordinary member of the ABA management committee last year, has been elected to the role of second vice-president.
Jon Page, manager of Pages & Pages Booksellers, continues on as president of the ABA, as does CEO Joel Becker, Collins Booksellers chairman Duncan Johnston in the role of first vice-president, Avid Reader’s Fiona Stager in the role of immediate past-president, and ordinary members Peter Strong, owner of Smiths Alternative Bookshop, and Jane Caton, CEO of Co-op Bookshop.
