The Palestine Laboratory wins 2023 Walkley Book Award

Antony Loewenstein has won the 2023 Walkley Book Award for The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel exports the technology of occupation around the world (Antony Loewenstein, Scribe).

Loewenstein’s book beat shortlisted works Ghosts of the Orphanage (Christine Kenneally, Hachette Australia) and Crossing the Line (Nick McKenzieHachette Australia).

This year, several journalists and cartoonists decided not to enter or withdrew their entries for the Walkley Awards in protest at the awards’ sponsorship by fossil fuel company Ampol. The winner was announced on 23 November. More information is on the Walkley Awards website here.
