Festivals: Stella, Australian Short Story Festival
Dates and details for two forthcoming small festivals have been announced.
Stella Day Out which took place in Sydney on 19 October, will run in Ballarat on 16 November and Orange on 23 November, and returns to Melbourne on 28 November. Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature. Stella announced the event will be heading to the new locations ‘after the huge success of Stella Day Out in Brisbane, Hobart, Canberra, Curban and Melbourne’.
The Australian Short Story Festival will take place from 22-24 November at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle campus. The program will include writing workshops, panel discussions, interviews, and a literary mock-debate. Writers scheduled to speak at the festival include Eugen Bacon, Cate Kennedy, John Kinsella, Catherine McNamara, Rashida Murphy, Kalem Murray and Laurie Steed.
