IPEd announces Rosie longlist
The Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) has announced the longlist for the 2025 Rosanne Fitzgibbon Editorial Award, known as the Rosie.
Longlisted editors—and their projects—include:
- Kristy Bushnell (UQP), for Love, Death & Other Scenes by Nova Weetman
- Kimberley Davis (HarperCollins NZ), for Under the Weather: A Future Forecast for New Zealand by James Renwick
- Judy Gregory (Springer), for Indigenous and Tribal Peoples and Cancer by Gail Garvey
- Emma Hutchinson (NewSouth), for Getting to Know the Birds in Your Neighbourhood by Darryl Jones
- Camille Nurka (Monash University Publishing), for Taking to the Field: A History of Australian Women in Science by Jane Carey
- Emma Rafferty (Hachette), for 17 Years Later by J P Pomare.
The Rosie honours the editorial contribution of the late Rosanne Fitzgibbon, with nominated editors seen to ‘have demonstrated a commitment and dedication to their craft by supporting a writer to create the best publishing outcome’. Editors in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand are eligible for the biennial award.
UQP senior editor Cathy Vallance won the 2023 Rosie for her editorial work on Zana Fraillon’s middle-grade verse novel The Way of Dog (UQP).
IPEd plans to announce the shortlist for this year’s award in March, followed by presentation of the winner during the 2025 IPEd Conference in Adelaide in late July.
