Boomerang Books merges with online schools bookseller BookSurf

Boomerang Books has expanded its school supply business by merging with specialist online bookseller BookSurf.

BookSurf, which has been operating for around 14 years, was purchased by Boomerang Books co-owner Pages & Pages Booksellers in October 2013. The store’s book fulfilment was previously undertaken by Seekbooks and the website supplied books to school customers located throughout Australia.

The business has now been incorporated into the Boomerang Books website, and previous BookSurf customers will be directed to the Boomerang Books website using their existing account details.

Booksurf customers previously received a 20% discount off the retail price of all purchases, 30-day payment terms and free shipping on orders over $300. Pages & Pages said in a statement this week that schools customers will continue to receive these account terms when they order through Boomerang Books. Boomerang Books general manager Jon Page told Books+Publishing that while Boomerang Books has previously worked with schools, this will be the first time that it will offer account terms.

Pages & Pages said that staff, students and parents of schools that order books through Boomerang Books will also receive 15% off their personal purchases with Boomerang Books.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Pages & Pages became the co-owner of Boomerang Books in October 2013 after the store purchased a majority share in Boomerang Books’ parent company Eclipse Commerce. Pages & Pages had previously taken over all print fulfilment and marketing for Boomerang Books in mid-2013.
