Registrations open for ALIA Information Online Conference
Early bird registrations are now open for the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Information Online Conference, which will be held in Sydney from 2-5 February 2015.
Program sessions will feature discussions around search, access and discovery; makerspaces; social media and digital engagement; copyright; and local and oral history.
Among the keynote speakers are media studies professor and author Siva Vaidhyanathan (The Googlization of Everything and Why We Should Worry, Copyrights and Copywrongs and The Anarchist in the Library); Erik Boekesteijn, director of consultancy Doklab, which offers an ‘Extreme Library Makeover Program’; Liz McGettigan, digital library and information specialist and former head of libraries and information service for the City of Edinburgh; and academic and writer Mitchell Whitelaw, who specialises in generative systems, data-aesthetics and digital cultural collections.
