Penguin Random House launches audio app
Penguin Random House has launched a new audio app called ‘Volumes’, reports Galleycat. The free app allows readers to listen to audio clips from authors including Jodi Picoult, Sophie Kinsella and Jim Gaffigan. Full-length audiobooks will periodically be made available for no charge. Currently, users may download a free digital copy of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (various imprints). A press release from the launch of ‘Volumes’ states that ‘to encourage users to give listening a try, Penguin Random House Audio is working with Literacy Partners to donate one audiobook (up to 25,000 audiobooks) for every person that downloads the app and pledges to listen’.
