Canongate acquires rights to Nick Cave title
Canongate has acquired the rights to a new book by musician Nick Cave
The Sick Bag Song will be published on 8 April and will be sold online-only from a dedicated website. The ‘unlimited’ edition of the book, which costs £30 (A$57.60), is presented in a box and includes an ebook edition and an audio download of Cave reading the book. There are also 220 limited-editions, which cost £750 (A$1,445), and include a vinyl double LP of Cave reading the book and a real sick bag customised by Cave.
The book ‘chronicles Nick Cave’s 2014 tour of North America with The Bad Seeds’ and ‘began life scribbled on airline sick bags and grew into a restless full-length epic, seeking out the roots of inspiration, love and meaning’.
Cave is the author of two novels, And the Ass Saw the Angel (Penguin) and The Death of Bunny Munro (Text).
