Nebula Awards 2015 nominees announced

In the US, the 2015 Nebula Awards nominees have been announced. Seven books are nominated in the fiction category: Raising Caine (Charles E Gannon, Baen Books); The Fifth Season (N K Jemisin, Orbit); Ancillary Mercy (Ann Leckie, Orbit); The Grace of Kings (Ken Liu, Head of Zeus); Uprooted (Naomi Novik, Tor); Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard (Lawrence M Schoen, Tor UK); and Updraft (Fran Wilde, Tor). The nominees for the Andre Norton Award for young adult science fiction and fantasy are: Seriously Wicked (Tina Connolly, Tor); Court of Fives (Kate Elliott, Little, Brown); Cuckoo Song (Frances Hardinge, Macmillan); Archivist Wasp (Nicole Kornher-Stace, Big Mouth House) Zeroboxer (Fonda Lee, Flux); Shadowshaper (Daniel José Older, Scholastic US); Bone Gap (Laura Ruby, HarperCollins US); Nimona (Noelle Stevenson, HarperCollins); and Updraft (Fran Wilde, Tor). Nominees were also announced in four other categories, including novella, novelette, short story and dramatic presentation. Among them, Auckland-based writer Tamsyn Muir was nominated in the category of novelette for ‘The Deepwater Bride’ (F&SF 7-8/15). The Nebula Awards are presented by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), whose members can vote on the winners from 1 to 30 March.
