Bestsellers this week

Lady Midnight (Cassandra Clare, S&S) remains at the top of the overall bestsellers chart for a second week, with new release Property of a Noble Woman (Danielle Steel, Bantam) in second spot and The Road to Ruin (Niki Savva, Scribe) in third. That Sugar Book author Damon Gameau’s follow-up That Sugar Guide: Practical Tips to Get You Eating Real Foods Again (with Zoe Gameau, Macmillan) debuted in sixth spot on the bestsellers chart and is second in the highest new entries chart, behind Property of a Noble Woman. Other highest new entries this week include erotic fiction title Maestra (L S Hilton, Zaffre) and The Summer Before the War (A&U) by Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand author Helen Simonson. Easter-themed children’s books continue to perform well in the last week before Easter, with the fastest movers chart featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Easter Colours (Puffin), Aussie Easter Hat Parade (Colin Buchanan, Scholastic) and Hoot’s Easter Hunt (HarperCollins). The only non-children’s title in the fastest movers is the latest Quarterly Essay by George Megalogenis: Balancing Act: Australia Between Recession and Renewal (Black Inc.)—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 16 March 2016).
