New Copyright Agency fund to support mid-to-late career authors
The Copyright Agency has announced a new fund to support mid-to-late career authors and visual artists.
The Create Career Fund will offer two $50,000 rounds each year, comprised of grants worth $10,000 to $20,000 each to ‘assist … with the costs associated with writing and researching or other forms of creative expression’.
Copyright Agency CEO Adam Suckling said the fund recognises the ‘invaluable contribution that mid-to-late authors and visual artists make to Australia’s creative culture and that, as a group, they are under-supported by existing arts funding’. ‘Even established creators need support to dedicate time to their craft,’ said Suckling.
