First authors announced for 2017 Byron Writers Festival

The first authors have been announced for the 2017 Byron Writers Festival, which runs from 4-6 August.

International guests include US science writer Dava Sobel; US biologist David George Haskell; UK journalist and writer Christina Lamb; and Indian visual artist Venkat Shyam.

Local authors include Kate Grenville, Hannah Kent, David Marr, Michael Robotham, John Safran, Holly Throsby, Deng Thiak Adut, Sally Rippin and Morris Gleitzman.

Festival director Edwina Johnson said this year’s program is ‘full of compelling, diverse voices that will surely inspire many entertaining conversations and discoveries throughout the festival’.

Early bird tickets go on sale from 24 May, with the full program to be announced on 14 June. For more information, click here.
