CHASS Australia Book Prize 2017 shortlist announced

The Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) has announced the shortlist for the 2017 Australia Book Prize.
The prize, worth $3500, is part of the CHASS Australia Prizes program, which aims to draw international attention to Australia’s achievements in the humanities, arts and social sciences.
The shortlisted titles are:
- The Art of Time Travel: Historians and Their Craft (Tom Griffiths, Black Inc.)
- From the Edge: Australia’s Lost Histories (Mark McKenna, MUP)
- Evatt: A Life (John Murphy, NewSouth)
- Atomic Thunder: The Maralinga Story (Elizabeth Tynan, NewSouth).
The winner will be announced at the 2017 CHASS Australia Prizes Dinner on 10 October in Melbourne.
