Almost 2000 publishers expected to attend Guadalajara book fair

The 2012 Guadalajara International Book Fair in Mexico is expected to attract close to 1900 publishers from 40 countries and 600,000 visitors, reports Publishers Weekly. The fair kicked off on 24 November and will run until 2 December, with Chile taking centre stage as guest of honour. According to Publishers Weekly, the size of this year’s fair is an indication of the growth and importance of Spanish-language publishing, which will be reinforced again next year with Mexico selected as the host country for the 2013 Book Expo America.
