NSW Prem’s awards to be announced tonight
The winners of the NSW Premier’s Awards will be announced tonight at a ceremony at the State Library of NSW.
This year two Miles Franklin Literary Award winners are competing for the $40,000 Christina Stead Prize for Fiction. Anna Funder’s All That I Am (Penguin) and Kim Scott’s That Deadman Dance (Picador) are joined on the shortlist by Kate Grenville’s Sarah Thornhill (Text), Gail Jones’ Five Bells (Vintage), Malcolm Knox’s The Life (A&U) and Rohan Wilson’s The Roving Party (A&U).

As previously reported by Bookseller+Publisher, the State Library took over the management of the awards earlier this year following a review of the awards. Next year, the NSW Premier’s Awards will return to the Sydney Writers’ Festival in May and the NSW Premier’s History Awards will return to History Week in September.
