‘The Australian Moment’ wins 2012 Walkley Book Award
George Megalogenis has won this year’s Walkley Book Award for The Australian Moment: How We Were Made for These Times (Viking).
Megalogenis received the award during the Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism at Parliament House in Canberra on 30 November.
As previously reported by Bookseller+Publisher, The Australian Moment was one of three books shortlisted for this year’s award. The other finalists were The People Smuggler: The True Story of Ali Al Jenabi (Robin de Crespigny, Viking) and Mine-Field: The Dark Side of Australia’s Resources Rush (Paul Cleary, Black Inc.).
