Following Kobo’s recent expansion into the Brazilian ebook market, Google and Amazon both launched ebookstores in Brazil this week, reports PaidContent. Google is now selling ebooks and movies in Brazil through Google Play Brasil, while Amazon is selling ebooks at Amazon.com.br and has plans to start selling Kindles in Brazil before the end of the year. As previously reported by Bookseller+Publisher, Kobo announced a partnership with Brazilian bookstore chain Livraria Cultura earlier this year and began selling Kobo Touch devices in Brazil at the end of November.
