Inaugural Creative Non-Fiction Festival program announced
The program for the New South Wales Writers’ Centre’s inaugural Creative Non-Fiction Festival has been announced.
Author Benjamin Law will curate the one day festival, which will be held at the NSW Writers’ Centre in Sydney on Saturday 2 November. The festival will include ten panel events featuring 18 writers discussing topics such as magazine profiles, longform narrative journalism, memoirs and essays.
Panels include ‘The story that nearly killed me: horror stories from the job’ with Benjamin Law, Trent Dalton, David Leser and Monica Attard; ‘How to seduce an editor’ with John van Tiggelen, Phillipa McGuinness, Nadia Saccardo, Wendy Harmer and Alyx Gorman; ‘Travel writing: but not as you know it’ with Brendan Shanahan, Tim Elliott, Walter Mason and Delia Falconer; ‘Profile writing: celebrities, icons & villains’ with Jane Cadzow, David Leser, Jason Treuen and John van Tiggelen; and ‘Be. More. Funny.’ With Dominic Knight, Wendy Harmer, Walter Mason and Ben Jenkins.
Other panelists include Jane Cadzow, Clementine Ford, and Jason Treuen. Books will be sold on the day by Berkelouw Paddington Bookshop. To view the full festival program, click here.
