Aussie books featured on USBBY list of outstanding international books

Three books by Australian authors have been selected for the 2014 United States Board of Books for Young People (USBBY) list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults.
The titles by Australian authors included in the list are:
- The Silver Button (Bob Graham, Walker Books)
- Sophie Scott Goes South (Alison Lester, Viking)
- The Bird King and Other Sketches (Shaun Tan, Windy Hollow, published in the US by Scholastic as The Bird King: An Artist’s Notebook).
The USBBY list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults is published each February. The list is compiled by the USBBY Outstanding International Books committee from international books published in the US during the previous calendar year.
