Kavanagh joins Stella Prize
Bec Kavanagh has been appointed education resource development officer for the Stella Prize.
Kavanagh, a freelance writer and reviewer and founder of A Thousand Words Festival in Melbourne, will be responsible for the development of teacher and librarian resources and speakers’ kits for the new Stella Prize Schools Program—an educational program that will include workshops with young writers; school visits by notable women writers and members of the Stella Prize board; professional development for teachers and librarians; and ‘engagement with curriculum decision-makers’.
Stella Prize manager Megan Quinlan told Books+Publishing that the Victoria pilot program will launch in September.
