Readings expands SLV store

The Readings store at the State Library of Victoria has been extended by almost a third.

The store, which closed for two weeks for renovations, reopened on Thursday 19 June with a ‘larger and more comfortable children’s section, a dedicated Australian fiction section, a larger and more comprehensive selection of State Library publications, and some lovely chairs for people to read in’, store manager Tom Hoskins told Books+Publishing.

‘The State Library had removed a couple of bays of public storage lockers and offered us the extra space, which we were more than happy to take,’ said Hoskins of the expansion. ‘The previous shop was getting a little tight so it’s nice to have a bit of breathing room again.’

The Readings SLV store opened in 2010, replacing a smaller store in the foyer of the library.
