Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature 2014 shortlists announced

The shortlists for the 2014 Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature have been announced.
The shortlisted books in each category are:
Young Readers
- Girl v the World: Sophie Bennett Saves the Planet (Meredith Badger, HGE)
- Bush Baby Rescue: Juliet Nearly a Vet Book 4 (Rebecca Johnson, illus by Kyla May, Puffin)
- The Smallest Carbon Footprint in the Land and Other Eco-tales (Anne Morgan, illus Gay McKinnon, Interactive Publications)
Picture book
- Welcome Home (Christina Booth, Ford Street Publishing)
- The Twelve Days of Christmas Island (Teresa Lagrange, A&U)
- Kissed by the Moon (Alison Lester, Viking)
- The Curious Explorer’s Illustrated Guide to Exotic Animals A to Z (Marc Martin, Viking)
- Rainforest Lullaby (Sally Odgers, illus by Lisa Stewart, Scholastic Press).
The winners will be announced ‘later this winter’, according to the Wilderness Society.
