HarperCollins to offer ‘Holiday Express Shipping’ for indies
In the US, HarperCollins is introducing a ‘Holiday Express Shipping’ program for independent bookstores, which will run from 3 November to 16 January. According to Publishers Weekly, the program will offer ‘expedited (and in most cases two business day) shipping’ for reorders of HarperCollins and HarperCollins Christian Publishing titles ‘provided that books are in stock and the account is in good standing’. ‘We are pleased to provide this service to the Indie channel in the busiest time of year in order to help them have HarperCollins titles in stock and meet the demands of their customers,’ said HarperCollins senior VP of sales Brian Grogan. Publishers Weekly reports that Penguin Random House is also likely to offer a two-day shipping service.
