Director of Libraries ACT nominated for Telstra Business Women’s Awards
Director of Libraries ACT Vanessa Little has been named as a finalist in the 2014 Telstra ACT Business Women’s Awards. Little, a former president of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), is nominated in the Community and Government category. Awards organisers described her as ‘a passionate advocate of public libraries as democratic resources for lifelong learning, self-education, literacy and technology’. The winners of the ACT awards will be announced in Canberra on 28 October and will go into the running for the national awards, to be announced in Melbourne on 26 October. The Telstra Business Women’s Awards are the longest-running business awards for women in Australia and offer $650,000 in cash and prizes.
