Blake Poetry Prize 2014 shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2014 Blake Poetry Prize has been announced.
The shortlisted poems are:
- ‘Penumbra’ (Brady Collard)
- ‘Soulchat’ (MTC Cronin)
- ‘either, Orpheus’ (Dan Disney)
- ‘Threnodials’ (Dave Drayton)
- ‘The Bridge’ (Ross Gillet)
- ‘The Metamorphosis’ (Mal McKinmie)
- ‘Litany’ (Claire Nasher)
- ‘Carnivale’ (Micaela Sahhar).
The winning and highly commended poems will be announced on 11 December. The winner will receive a cash prize of $5000.
The Blake Poetry prize is presented annually by the New South Wales Writers’ Centre and the Blake Society to works of 100 lines or less that ‘engage in the dialogue between religion, spirituality and poetry’.
In 2013, the award was presented to Anthony Lawrence for his poem ‘Appellations’.
