Marvel has signed a deal with Kobo to add 250 digital comics to Kobo’s catalogue as fixed-layout illustrated ebooks, reports Digital Book World. Titles include franchises such as ‘The Avengers’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Captain America’ and ‘Infinity Gauntlet’. ‘Marvel is excited about our partnership with Kobo and happy to have the opportunity to provide fans, new and existing, another great way to experience our legendary content,’ said Marvel Entertainment senior VP of sales and marketing David Gabriel. Digital Book World has described the move as ‘a modest vote of confidence in the format on Kobo’s part, not to mention an expanded play in a field dominated by [Amazon-owned] ComiXology’.
