Library Lovers’ Day celebrations planned
Libraries around Australia will be participating in Library Lovers’ Day celebrations on Saturday 14 February.
The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), which runs the initiative, offers a list of suggestions for libraries to get involved, including author talks, ‘blind date with a book’ lucky dips, writing workshops and romance-related book displays.
Among the events being held this year is Woollahra Libraries’ Great Romance Debate, where panellists will discuss the topic: romance readers love a happy ending, but what happens when authors fail to deliver? The debate features: romance blogger Kat Mayo, authors Kate Forsyth and Shannon Curtis, library scholar Vassiliki Veros, romance scholar Jodi McAlister and comedian Madeleine Culp.
