Digital Writers’ Festival announces events

The Digital Writers’ Festival has announced a number of events in the 2015 program ahead of the full launch on 4 February.

The online-only festival, which is hosted by the Emerging Writers’ Festival (EWF), will run from 11-22 February and feature over 60 artists across 30 events.

Among the events are Digital Dinner Parties, where audiences will join food writers to discuss culinary culture over meals; Go Play, where writers and critics will discuss videogame culture; and Show and Tell, which will spotlight innovative digital work from the past year. The festival will also run events in conjunction with the UNESCO Cities of Literature and the Stella Prize. To view the events, click here.

A new cultural exchange between EWF and the Bali Emerging Writers’ Festival (BEWF) has also been announced. With support from the federal government’s Australia-Indonesia Institute, two writers will be sent to Bali in April to attend the BEWF—as well as attend EWF events in May and June—and will be required to produce online work reflecting on their experience.
