LBF to hold social media conference
The London Book Fair (LBF) will stage its first social media conference on trends in global publishing, reports the Bookseller. The online conference, called ‘Around the World in 8 Hours’, will take place on 18 March on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google Plus. The program features a blog tour in China on the country’s digital publishing scene, a Google Hangout with HarperCollins Australia CEO James Kellow, Twitter chats with senior publishing figures in India and Malaysia, LinkedIn events in Germany on the state of publishing in Europe, a market focus session on LBF guest of honour Mexico, and a Twitter chat with Sourcebooks CEO Dominique Raccah. Additional content will be provided by the UK’s Publishers Association throughout the conference. ‘We’re delighted to welcome some of the leading voices in trade publishing to an event that we think demonstrates just how global and international in reach the publishing business has become,’ said LBF conference manager Orna O’Brien. The event is free to attend. For more information, visit the LBF website here.
