New Zealand Book Council launches books podcast
The New Zealand Book Council (NZBC) is producing a new monthly podcast discussing new release and classic New Zealand books.
‘Talking Books’ is hosted by novelist Catherine Robertson, who will speak with guests including New Zealand writers, journalists, academics and newsmakers. The podcast is funded by Copyright Licensing New Zealand.
NZBC CEO Catriona Ferguson said podcast ‘provides an opportunity to hear smart people talking about great books—and will hopefully foster not only a new listening habit, but encourage more diverse reading habits as well.’ ‘At a time when support for the literary arts in New Zealand is in flux, it’s vital we find new ways to spread the word about the joy of reading and promote New Zealand writers,’ said Ferguson.
The first episode features writer Rachel O’Neill, author Pip Adam and critic Guy Somerset.
‘Talking Books’ will be uploaded each month to the Booknotes Unbound website and will soon be available on the iTunes store.
