Transportation Press announces literary collaboration with UK, Iran
Tasmanian publisher Transportation Press has announced plans to publish a second collection of short stories from Tasmania and abroad.
‘The Third Script will include stories from Tasmania, the UK and Iran, and further Transportation Press’ aim to illuminate Tasmanian literature through inspired connections,’ said the publisher in a callout for submissions.
The publisher’s first collection, Islands and Cities, featured short stories from London and Tasmania.
‘We chose to invite Iranian writers with a view to growing international collaborations for our writers, because they have such a fine and strong literary tradition and because their current political circumstances are closing down opportunities for Iranian voices to be heard,’ editor-in-chief Rachel Edwards told Books+Publishing.
Edwards said she hopes the collection will become an annual publication of Tasmanian writers ‘alongside writers from different locations around the world’.
