Elizabeth Jolley Prize 2015 shortlist announced
Australian Book Review has announced the shortlist for this year’s Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize, worth $8000. The shortlisted stories are: ‘Borges and I’ by Michelle Cahill (Aus); ‘Crest’ by Harriet McKnight (Aus); and ‘The Elector of Nossnearly’ by Rob Magnuson Smith (UK/US). Smith is the author of two novels, The Gravedigger (University of New Orleans Publishing) and Scorper (Granta); Cahill has a short story collection, Letter to Pessoa, forthcoming from Giramondo; and McKnight is the deputy editor of The Canary Press. The winner will be announced at the Brisbane Writers Festival on 4 September at the launch of the ABR Fiction Issue, in which the shortlisted stories will appear.
