Lagercrantz to write two more ‘Millenium’ series novels

Swedish author David Lagercrantz has been contracted to write two more novels in the ‘Millenium’ series (Quercus), reports the Bookseller. The fifth novel in the late Stieg Larsson’s series will be published in 2017, and the sixth is tentatively scheduled for 2019, according to Swedish publisher Norstedts. Both books will be published in the UK by MacLehose Press, part of Quercus. Larsson’s brother and estate manager Joakim Larsson reported that the response to Lagercrantz’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, released in August, has had an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ response from readers. ‘We are happy and grateful that David Lagercrantz has carried on the universe and the characters that Stieg created,’ said Larsson. ‘Now we are anticipating with excitement how he will continue the story’.
