Heather Fisher wins 2015 Lady Cutler Award
Librarian and teacher Heather Fisher has won this year’s Lady Cutler Award, presented by the New South Wales branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) for distinguished service to children’s literature. Fisher ‘continues in a distinguished career in librarianship that has spanned many years,’ said the NSW CBCA in a statement. ‘She has worked as a teacher, librarian, teacher-librarian and is a dedicated volunteer for CBCA NSW and other literary organisations.’ ‘Her general philosophy is to read and discover all about children’s and young adult literature, working with passion and energy to promote this. At all times she has been an advocate for developing programs that connect children and young adults with the right books.’
The award will be presented at an event in Sydney on 17 November. For more information, visit the website here.
