Stella Prize to examine diversity in reviews
Thursday, 25 February 2016 Books+Publishing @booksandpublishing
The Stella Prize is expanding its annual Stella Count to include a Diversity Survey to examine review coverage of authors from various backgrounds, especially marginalised groups.
The Diversity Survey will be sent to writers reviewed in the major papers as well as reviewers, who will be invited to self-identify across points including race, disability, non-binary gender identification and sexual orientation.
Ahead of the survey, the Stella Prize and Writers Victoria are hosting an open forum at the Wheeler Centre on 17 March where members of the writing community are invited to help shape the survey.
