New Zealand YA review site launches

A group of New Zealand writers and editors associated with the journal New Zealand Books Pukapuka Aotearoa have launched a website for reviewing and discussing New Zealand YA books.

Hooked on NZ Books He Ao Ano is aimed at 13- to 19-year-olds and anyone interested in reviewing and discussing YA books. It includes collated links to reviews of NZ YA titles published elsewhere, reviews from YA readers, interviews and other articles by NZ writers and advice and resources about writing reviews.

Young readers can submit their reviews of between 500-1000 words through its submissions portal, with users who post multiple reviews over time collecting ‘digital bookmarks’ against their username. Reviewers can also have the opportunity to interview authors.
