Mudgee Readers’ Festival 2016 program announced

The Mudgee Readers’ Festival in regional NSW has announced the program for its 2016 festival, to be held from 13-14 August.

Festival guests include Jane Caro, Sami Shah, Emily Maguire, Alison Whittaker, Geordie Williamson, Ellen van Neerven, David Dyer, Candice Fox and Charlotte Nash.

A new partnership with the Stella Prize will also see events featuring 2016 winner Charlotte Wood, Stella Ambassador Emily Maguire, judge Geordie Williamson, and shortlisted authors Fiona Wright and Ellen van Neerven.

Festival general manager Portia Lindsay said the ‘varied program’ includes events such as Seizure’s Rant, Art for Poetry’s Sake exhibition, Teen Book Swap, Sunday Story-time and the MRF Book Club. ‘The Mudgee Readers’ Festival aims to have books take over a town known for its food and wine,’ said Lindsay. ‘By showcasing the gorgeous town of Mudgee and sharing the joys and benefits of reading, we aim to make the 13 and 14 August a truly special weekend for book-lovers of all ages.’
