Film Vic gives funding to Boori Monty Pryor web-series

A documentary web-series looking back on the life of Indigenous author and activist Boori Monty Pryor, to be screened on the ABC’s iview portal, is one of 17 Victorian film and TV projects to receive a combined total of $3.85m in funding from the Victorian state government.

The series, Maybe Today, is pitched as ‘a collection of vignettes from his life that have delighted audiences worldwide, inviting us to find humour in sad places’. Pryor will be joined by producer-writer-directors Kelly West and Jon Staley, and executive producer Emma Fitzsimons.

Production company Passion Pictures Australia and Luma Toons also received funding for a project based on Nathan Jurevicius’s graphic novel Scarygirl (A&U).
