Nix’s forthcoming ‘Frogkisser!’ to be adapted for musical film

Garth Nix’s forthcoming middle-grade novel Frogkisser! (A&U, February 2017) is being adapted into a live-action/animation musical film by US-based Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios.

The film will follow the adventures of Princess Anya, who has the ‘unfortunate ability to break curses with a magic-assisted kiss’, as she goes on the run after her stepmother’s new husband takes over the kingdom.

Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studio’s animation credits include the ‘Ice Age’ series, Rio and The Peanuts Movie. The project will be overseen by Fox’s animation vice-president Ralph Millero.

Frogkisser! will be published by Scholastic in North America and Piccadilly Press in the UK.
